Americans don't like hypocrites. We make television entertainment out of them. Trouble is that the opposition is a known quantity in Washington's urge to grow and spend. We know that Democrats desperately want power back so they can increase the number of agencies, the amount of money spent, and level of control exercised over citizens. There are a good many House Republicans, and not a few in the Senate, who are sick and tired of their colleagues on their side of the aisle trying pass for Liberal.
