Justice Roberts: DOA, Please. Luv, Netroots

When we heard early yesterday afternoon that Chief Justice Roberts had "collapsed," we were nervous, and even moreso when reports revealed that he'd had a "seizure." We confess to some skepticism about the early diagnosis of a "benign idiopathic seizure." (It's hard to find an agreeably clear description of this diagnosis on the web within a short time period, so our link is the best we can find for now.

Why our skepticism? Subjective, actually. Mr. and Mrs. W lost their 20-something daughter over a decade ago to a brain tumor, whose initial clue was a massive seizure that appeared without warning. Seizures, while connected to epilepsy, are not infrequently merely symptoms of something else that can prove to be worse. The Chief Justice is said to have had a similar episode in 1993. Let's hope that the inevitable brain scans will not show something worse. This guy is probably the most intelligent Chief Justice we've had in my lifetime, and we here at HazZzMat are wishing him the best of health and, hopefully, a long enough tenure to bring the High Court back to where it should always have been, interpreting law rather than imposing socialism while letting Democrats off the hook instead of having to vote each time on limiting our freedoms further.

Unfortunately, the wingnuts and netroots are cackling with their usual juvenile glee at Mr. Roberts' health issues. As in this typically vicious observation:

Except, unlike 40,000,000 americans, he has access to the best of the best health care plans in the world. If, unexpectedly, he sees his own frail human life, his ability to suffer and die, his future pass before his eyes, like it does to hundreds of thousands each day in this country, if it educates him about the harm he inflicts on others, then, yeah, I can see hoping for him. But more likely than not, he won’t. He will not recognize life as most of us see it. He will continue in his neocon way of viewing things, and simply add fat to the fire when he recovers and returns to the bench.

Upon reading this and similar detritus related to the Veep's heart issues last week, one can only conclude that the latest youthful cadre of Democrat-Socialist wannabes is as juvenile, bigoted, and downright meanspirited as they are ignorant. Offloading every evil under the sun onto conservatives, they fail to recognize the pure evil of their own vile and wilful ignorance as they indulge in an unending orgy of primal scream therapy.

As one sensible blogger observes:
