Quote of the Day: Theodore Dalrymple

Islam is fast becoming the Marxism of our times. Had Fritz G. and Daniel S. grown up a generation earlier, they would have become members of the Baader-Meinhof Gang rather than Islamic extremists. The dictatorship of the proletariat, it seems, has given way before the establishment of the Caliphate as the transcendent answer to some German youths’ personal angst...Islam, the Marxism of Our Time, Theodore Dalrymple, City Journal and Frontpagemag.com, 9/21/2007

Read the rest. Happy Fall.

The article is interesting, but the "Marxism" thing is less of an issue than the "Christian" thing.

We have plenty of Marxists in the US, but they don't blow people up.

It is Secular Humanism's murder of the soul that drives people into the arms of a radicalized religion, not Marxism.

Dear Extreme,

This doesn't parse. We have plenty of Marxists in the U.S., and they SUPPORT those who blow people up because they detest the U.S. Accessories after the fact. Same difference.

Likewise, secular humanism is largely the result of nearly a century of Marxist propaganda. Your connections don't really make much sense.
