A Brief Comment on the Culture Wars

Now that most of the shouting is over (with the Senate still in doubt but with Republican victory dubious at best), it will be possible for HazZzMat to get back to its main mission of exposing the way the left has infiltrated and corrupted our civic, social, cultural, and sometimes religious institutions to weaken the spirit of America, all the better to cause its collapse into some kind of atheistic socialist utopia. Conservatives have needed to counteract this creeping Gramscianism for at least two generations now. But somehow, they don't see how business and politics—generally a left-brain-hemisphere game—can be subordinated to a Marxist agenda by means of clever propaganda deriving from right-hemisphere cunning and craft.

Since the battle for language, education, reason, and common sense seems crucial to breaking the left's and the media's cultural death grip on an increasing number of American minds, we'll be drilling down on related topics quite vigorously over the next two years. Conservative leadership has turned a blind eye in this direction, never seeming to realize that it's the cultural intangibles, along with a corrupted educational system, that have been undermining them every time. So it looks like it's going to be up to HazZzMat to shed further light in this area and, perhaps, to provide a clear intellectual path out of the postmodernist, Marxist morass that threatens to terminate our long and wondrous experience with the vigorous give-and-take of liberal democracy.

We'll be highlighting little-known and sometimes forgotten modern masters of reason as well as shamefully neglected writers, artists, and other thinkers who, due to their creative, often conservative thoughts, rarely win public accolades and are never nominated for lefty-controlled prizes and grants. They're out there, and you need to get to know them.

Stay tuned.
