Vermont sure has changed. Where tourists go to experience souvenirs of the America that used to be has become another kind of home for nostalgia, the antiquarian politics of Karl Marx. From "Screamin'" Howard to Good ol' Bernie, the state now seems more like a Yuppie retirement home than a founding state of the republic.
