Mike's Pence

RedState claims to have scooped the MSM on this one, as the site prints Representative Mike Pence's eloquent bid to take on the post of Minority Leader of the House. Money graf:

I am running for Republican leader, because I believe that we did not just lose our Majority—we lost our way. We are in the wilderness because we walked away from the limited government principles that minted the Republican Congress. But there is a way out. “The way out of the wilderness,” author Mark Helprin wrote, “is the truth; recognizing it, stating it, defending it, living by it.”

Not that Helprin is the greatest guy in the world to quote. But Mike Pence is right on the money. A very good conclusion indeed to Day 1 of the battle to take Congress back. Hubris and cluelessness won't do it as Repubs have just learned. Being true to your core principals will.
