Buckley: In with a Bang, Out with a Bang

Buckley began his speech by talking about the first time he spoke in front of the YPU 60 years ago, when he convinced the union to rescind an invitation for a speech given to the General Secretary of the Communist Party, William Z. Foster...Buckley's description of his previous campaign against the Communist leader led into his central argument that the Democratic party candidates should withdraw from the election and, more generally, from American politics....Buckley Speaks on Public Affairs for YPU, Evangelia Podares, Yale Daily News, 11/2/2006

William F. Buckley, one of the co-founders of the conservative movement, suggested that Democrats leave American politics in what he described as his last speech on public affairs last night at the Yale Political Union. Why mince words?

Thanks to William F. Buckley for sixty years of thoughtful discussion, advocacy, wit, not to mention eyebrow concertis without end!
